Jamaica Intro

The streets of Jamaica
A map of Jamaica, the final country I will visit in Latin America
I have just left Guatemala, and I am currently on my way to the last of the three countries I will visit, Jamaica. From what I have learned about this nation, Jamaica is a small island located in the Caribbean Sea. In the Caribbean Sea, it is located south of Cuba and west of Haiti. Geographic landmarks like the Blue Mountains, which are located in eastern Jamaica, and the beaches that run along the coast lines are present in Jamaica. Jamaica was once a British colony where many African slaves were brought over to help on plantations. Over time, these Africans soon got independence from the British forming the nation Jamaica is today. Even though most of the British are gone from Jamaica, they still have a heavy influence on Jamaica through aspects like the English language and Protestant religions that are prominent in this nation today. I cannot wait to visit and explore Jamaica in the upcoming days to end my so wonderful trip to Latin America.
